Jeffrey Hoddick v. HHS - HPV, autonomic dysfunction and chronic fatigue syndrome (2021)

Jeffrey Hoddick alleged that the Gardasil vaccine he received on July 12, 2017 caused him to develop autonomic dysfunction and chronic fatigue syndrome. He filed a petition with the Court of Federal Claims on August 17, 2020.

After filing some initial medical records, Mr. Hoddick provided notice to withdraw his petition on May 13, 2021, requesting an order concluding the proceedings.

The court noted that under the National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program, a petitioner must prove either a Table Injury or that the vaccine actually caused the injury, supported by medical records or a physician's opinion. As Mr.

Hoddick wished to withdraw his petition, protecting his right to file a civil action in the future, the court ordered the petition withdrawn. This order was deemed a judgment for purposes of the program.
