Teri Collins v. HHS - HPV, death (2014)

Teri Collins, as the proposed administrator of her deceased daughter Amber Kauffman's estate, filed a petition for compensation. Amber Kauffman received the human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine on October 9, 2007, and March 31, 2008.

She died on April 7, 2008, and the petition alleged that the HPV vaccine caused her death. Following a hearing, the Special Master denied the claim for compensation on November 8, 2013.

However, the petitioner was awarded attorneys' fees and costs totaling $77,175.09 because the petition was filed in good faith and had a reasonable basis. Respondent did not object to this amount.

The decision was filed on February 7, 2014.
