K.T. v. HHS - HPV, other (2024)

Richard and Renata Thornburg filed a petition for compensation on behalf of their minor child, K.T., alleging injuries after receiving two human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccinations on August 19, 2022, and February 15, 2023. Because a decision had not been issued within the time specified by Vaccine Rule 10(b), the petitioners were notified that they could withdraw the petition or allow it to remain before the special master.

On June 6, 2024, the Thornburgs timely filed a notice to withdraw the petition. The Chief Special Master granted their request to withdraw, concluding the proceedings on the merits but specifying that no judgment on the merits should be entered.

The case was therefore dismissed upon withdrawal.
