Shelly Simms filed a petition on behalf of her minor child, R.S., alleging injuries from human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccinations received on January 21, 2019, and August 9, 2019. The petition was filed on December 29, 2023.

Because a decision had not been issued within the statutorily allowed time, the petitioner was notified of her options to either withdraw the petition or have it remain before the special master. On December 21, 2023, Shelly Simms elected to withdraw the petition.

The Chief Special Master granted this request, concluding the proceedings. No judgment on the merits was entered.
