Cynthia Trice v. HHS - Influenza, Guillain-Barre syndrome (2026)

Cynthia Trice filed a petition for compensation under the National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program on September 22, 2025, alleging she suffered from Guillain-Barre syndrome (GBS) as a result of an influenza vaccine administered on September 21, 2023. She stated the vaccine was administered in the United States, her injury had residual effects for more than six months, and she had received no prior settlements or awards.

On June 4, 2026, Respondent filed a Rule 4(c) report conceding that Petitioner is entitled to compensation. Respondent concluded that Petitioner's injury meets the definition and criteria of GBS as defined by the Vaccine Injury Table and that she satisfied all requirements for compensation.

Based on Respondent's concession and the evidence, the Chief Special Master found Petitioner entitled to compensation.
