Peggy Dodds v. HHS - Influenza, shoulder injury related to vaccine administration (SIRVA) (2026)

Peggy Dodds filed a petition for compensation under the National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program, alleging she suffered a shoulder injury related to vaccine administration (SIRVA) from an influenza vaccine received on October 1, 2022. She stated the vaccine was administered in the United States, she suffered residual effects for more than six months, and had not received prior compensation.

Respondent filed a Rule 4(c) report conceding that Petitioner is entitled to compensation. Respondent agreed that her injury was consistent with SIRVA, noting no prior history of shoulder issues, pain and reduced range of motion limited to the vaccinated side occurring within 48 hours of vaccination, and no other identified condition explaining the pain.

Respondent also agreed that Petitioner suffered residual effects for more than six months and met all legal prerequisites for compensation. Chief Special Master Corcoran found Petitioner entitled to compensation.
