William R. Shoop, III v. HHS - Pneumococcal, left-sided Parsonage Turner syndrome (2026)

William R. Shoop, III filed a petition for vaccine compensation alleging that he suffered left-sided Parsonage Turner syndrome as a result of pneumococcal conjugate and/or tetanus-diphtheria-acellular pertussis vaccines received on May 11, 2023.

He stated that the vaccines were administered in the United States, that he suffered residual effects for more than six months, and that there had been no prior award or settlement. Respondent denied that petitioner sustained a Table injury, denied that the vaccines caused his alleged injury, and denied that his current condition was a sequela of a vaccine-related injury.

Despite these positions, the parties filed a joint stipulation agreeing that a decision should be entered awarding compensation. The court adopted the stipulation as its decision, awarding a lump sum of $60,318.17 for all items of damages available under Section 15(a).

This amount was to be paid through an ACH deposit to Petitioner’s counsel’s IOLTA account for prompt disbursement to Petitioner.
