Jill Briggs v. HHS - Influenza, shoulder injury related to vaccine administration (SIRVA) (2026)

Jill Briggs filed a petition for compensation under the National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program, alleging she suffered a shoulder injury related to vaccine administration (SIRVA) after receiving an influenza vaccine in her left arm on November 8, 2023. She further alleged residual effects for more than six months.

Respondent denied that the vaccine caused her alleged injury or that her condition was a sequelae of a vaccine-related injury. Despite these denials, the parties filed a joint stipulation agreeing to a settlement.

Chief Special Master Corcoran found the stipulation reasonable and adopted it as the decision awarding damages. Briggs was awarded a lump sum of $75,000.00, representing compensation for all items of damages available under Section 15(a).
