Jeffrey Blind v. HHS - Influenza, Guillain Barré syndrome (2026)

Jeffrey Blind filed a petition for compensation under the National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program on December 13, 2024, alleging Guillain Barré syndrome (GBS) resulting from an influenza vaccine received on November 10, 2023. He stated the vaccine was administered in the United States, he experienced residual effects of GBS for more than six months, and there had been no prior award or settlement for his condition.

The parties filed a joint stipulation on February 19, 2026, agreeing that GBS is a Table injury, that it occurred within the Table's timeframe following the flu vaccine, and that there was not a preponderance of evidence showing an unrelated cause. Based on this stipulation, Chief Special Master Corcoran awarded Jeffrey Blind $155,006.41 in compensation on February 20, 2026.

Separately, on July 9, 2026, Chief Special Master Corcoran awarded Petitioner $37,261.95 for attorney's fees and costs.
