Sherry Ellsworth v. HHS - Influenza, shoulder injury related to vaccine administration (SIRVA) (2026)

Sherry Ellsworth filed a petition for compensation on May 24, 2024, alleging that an influenza vaccine administered on November 1, 2022, caused her to suffer a shoulder injury related to vaccine administration (SIRVA). The vaccine is listed on the Vaccine Injury Table.

Petitioner stated she received the vaccine in the United States, suffered residual effects for more than six months, and had no prior award or settlement for her injury. Respondent denied that the flu vaccine caused petitioner's alleged shoulder injury or any other injury.

Despite these denials, the parties filed a joint stipulation on June 11, 2026, agreeing to settle the case. Chief Special Master Corcoran found the stipulation reasonable and awarded Sherry Ellsworth $25,000.00 in compensation for all items of damages.
