Osmyn Lavor Deuel v. HHS - Tdap, Guillain-Barré Syndrome (GBS) or chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyradiculoneuropathy (CIDP) (2025)

Osmyn Lavor Deuel filed a petition on July 28, 2022, alleging that the tetanus-diphtheria-acellular pertussis (Tdap) vaccine he received on August 1, 2019, caused him to suffer from Guillain-Barré Syndrome (GBS) or chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyradiculoneuropathy (CIDP). The Tdap vaccine is listed on the Vaccine Injury Table.

Respondent denied that the vaccine caused Mr. Deuel's condition but agreed to a joint stipulation for compensation.

The parties stipulated to an award of $80,000.00 to compensate Mr. Deuel for all damages available under the program.

Special Master Christian J. Moran found the stipulation reasonable and adopted it as the decision of the Court, directing that judgment be entered accordingly.
