Elaine Letizia v. HHS - Influenza, Guillain-Barre Syndrome (GBS) (2023)

Elaine Letizia filed a petition for compensation under the National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program, alleging that she suffered Guillain-Barre Syndrome (GBS) as a result of an influenza vaccination received on October 2, 2019. The court awarded Elaine Letizia a total of $311,646.77, which included compensation for life care expenses for the first year, pain and suffering, and past unreimbursable expenses. Additionally, an amount sufficient to purchase an annuity contract was awarded for future life care items.
