Avinash Idnani v. HHS - Influenza, shoulder injury related to vaccine administration (2023)

Avinash Idnani filed a petition for compensation on January 8, 2021, alleging a shoulder injury related to vaccine administration (SIRVA) from an influenza vaccine received on December 7, 2019. Mr.

Idnani stated the vaccine was administered in the United States, that the injury had residual effects for more than six months, and that there had been no prior award or settlement. The respondent denied that the petitioner sustained a SIRVA Table injury, denied that the vaccine caused the alleged shoulder injury or any other injury, and denied that his current condition was a sequela of a vaccine-related injury.

Despite these positions, the parties filed a joint stipulation on October 23, 2023, agreeing to settle the case. Chief Special Master Brian H.

Corcoran adopted the stipulation, awarding Mr. Idnani $37,000.00 as compensation for all damages.

This amount was to be paid as a lump sum in the form of a check payable to the petitioner. The case proceeded as a Table claim, and the parties agreed to resolve the matter through this stipulation and award.

Petitioner was represented by Heather L. Pearlman of Green & Schafle LLC, and respondent was represented by Joseph Adam Lewis of the U.S.
