The respondent, the Secretary of Health and Human Services, denied that the vaccine caused petitioner's alleged CRPS or any other injury. The parties subsequently filed a joint stipulation on January 6, 2022, agreeing to settle the case. The stipulation noted that the influenza vaccine is listed on the Vaccine Injury Table. As part of the settlement, Chief Special Master Brian H. Corcoran awarded Debra Crawford $85,000.00 in a lump sum, payable by check to the petitioner. This award represents compensation for all damages available under the Vaccine Act and is considered a compromise of the parties' respective positions on liability and damages. The decision was issued on February 7, 2022. Petitioner was represented by Leah VaSahnja Durant of the Law Offices of Leah V. Durant, PLLC, and the respondent was represented by Terrence Kevin Mangan, Jr. of the U.S. Department of Justice. Theory of causation field: Petitioner Debra Crawford filed a petition alleging that an influenza vaccine administered on October 8, 2018, caused her to develop Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS). The respondent denied causation. The parties entered into a joint stipulation to settle the case, agreeing to an award of $85,000.00. The stipulation stated that the influenza vaccine is on the Vaccine Injury Table. The public decision does not describe the specific mechanism of causation, expert testimony, or detailed clinical information regarding the onset, symptoms, tests, or treatments for CRPS. The award represents a compromise of liability and damages. The decision was issued by Chief Special Master Brian H. Corcoran on February 7, 2022.
