Christopher Gravens v. HHS - Hepatitis A, Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS) and/or other neurologic and physical impairments and other injuries (2023)

Christopher Gravens filed a petition on April 13, 2020, alleging that he developed Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS) and/or other neurological and physical impairments as a result of receiving Hepatitis A and Meningococcal vaccines on July 6, 2017. This decision addresses his application for interim attorneys' fees and costs.

The court found that the petition was filed in good faith and with a reasonable basis, supported by an expert report from Dr. M.

Eric Gershwin, who theorized that the vaccines, in conjunction with a cytomegalovirus (CMV) infection, caused the petitioner's GBS. The court awarded $120,996.33 in interim attorneys' fees and costs, after reducing some requested rates and disallowing charges for clerical and administrative tasks.
