The respondent, the Secretary of Health and Human Services, denied that the HPV vaccines caused Petitioner's vitiligo or any other injury. Despite maintaining their positions, both parties agreed to settle the case. They entered into a joint stipulation on October 18, 2019, agreeing that a decision should be entered awarding Petitioner compensation. The Special Master reviewed the file and found the stipulation to be reasonable, adopting it as the decision. The stipulation awarded Simon Olschansky a lump sum of $38,696.72, representing compensation for all damages available under the program. The decision was issued on January 10, 2020, and the petition had been filed on October 21, 2019.
