J.B. v. HHS - Tdap, left shoulder injuries (2017)

J.B., a minor, by and through her parent and natural guardian Derek Bailey, filed a petition for compensation on August 31, 2017, alleging that J.B. suffered left shoulder injuries as a result of her meningococcal and Tdap vaccinations received on July 2, 2015. The parties reached a stipulation, and on March 30, 2017, compensation was awarded.

Subsequently, on June 29, 2017, petitioner filed an application for attorneys' fees and costs, requesting $13,216.50 in fees and $550.21 in costs, for a total of $13,766.71. Respondent filed a response on July 7, 2017, stating no objection to the motion.

The Chief Special Master reviewed the billing records and found the request reasonable, awarding the total amount of $13,766.71 as a lump sum, jointly payable to J.B. and her counsel.
