Charlene Catron v. HHS - Influenza, Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS) (2014)

Charlene Catron filed a petition alleging that the influenza vaccine she received on January 21, 2010, caused her to suffer Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS) and residual effects for more than six months. The respondent denied that the vaccine caused the GBS.

The parties entered into a stipulation where the respondent agreed to compensate Ms. Catron.

The court adopted the stipulation, awarding a lump sum of $500,000.00 for all damages. Subsequently, the court awarded $22,525.00 in attorneys' fees and costs, bringing the total compensation to $522,525.00.
